Making of a Band's Brand
So a fun fact is that I am not only a designer, but I am also a singer-songwriter and guitarists. Thus, it's no surprise that I have an affinity towards branding live music events and artists. The projects here are a collective of special music artist projects I have had the pleasure to worked on.
Defining UnDefyned
UnDefyned was a trio R&B girl group from Charlotte, NC. My task was to make sure their logo was eye catching, embodied the personalities of the women, and could be utilized across many different types of assets and on merchandise. They wanted a punchy color pallet so I went with a deep hot pink and high contrast of black and white, which would pair nicely with other background colors for different promotions.
These are some of the initial logo concepts I created before we decided to go with an silhouette of the group.
The ladies had the logo printed onto denim jackets to premier in their debut music video.
A Meeting in the Ladies Room
Klymaxx is the only female band to ever chart on the R&B and Funk Billboard Magazine, and has embarked on their resent Anniversary tour, celebrating their fan favorite, “Meeting In The Ladies Room.” I was contracted to develop several flyers for their tour. As a result, my work was seen on Sway's Universe, a popular entertainment blog, as well as Fox 5 DC.
Developing an Artists Visual Voice
One of my greatest joys has been branding myself as a music artist. While it was initially challenging to find my own visual voice, because the skies the limit when you are designing for yourself, I was able to build a brand that was very ME! Bold yet soft, similar to my personality, very feminine, and clean with some organic and rustic touches. Below are some initial marketing items I created in order start to promote my musical work.
